Nygmarose top 5 makeup stash

Makeup lover like myself have massive makeup collections. I am running out of space in my beauty box and sometimes I come across new palette that I’d forgotten I had all this while. All this makeup and I will still buy more. I mean… There’s no such thing as too much makeup. If you’re a makeup artist like me, you definitely have to stock up your makeup. I was looking around my beauty box and I realise I have a few products that I will instantly gravitate to. I want to share my top favourite makeup products with you.

1.) Eyeshadow

IG: @nygmarose

When I’m in a hurry or I have to pack just one palette for traveling, my go to is Huda Beauty Rose Gold Palette. I can create a simple neutral look and I can switch it up to a more dramatic look too. On my lazy days I will use the shade coco on my lid and take a blending brush to blend it upwards to my crease. On my not so lazy day, I like to use the shade maneater on my crease add coco to the outer corner and blessed on my lid. I’m not a big fan of the textured eyeshadow but I do use them on my lid when I do a black smokey eye so the colour would pop. Unfortunately Huda discontinued this palette when she came up with desert dusk palette.

2.) Primer

source: sephora.com

I see this product everywhere on Instagram. My first thought was that ahhh just another hype online and probably isn’t that good. I was sceptical. It was pricey too! Sephora Singapore recently bring in the Farsali Rose Gold elixir and Unicorn essence. I went to the store to try it out and end up getting the unicorn essence. I have an oily skin….and also the fact I just want to be fancy having unicorn stuff on my face. OMG girlfriends….. This product is legit. I love the smell, I love how it feels on my skin and I love how my makeup look after using this primer. Best thing is that this is water-based so it helps with my oily skin and it is also free from parabens, sulfates, and phthalates. YAY! Get it here.

3.) Foundation

IG: @nygmarose

Fenty Beauty. Where do I even begin. Rihanna slay at everything. She’s the ultimate boss babe. Ever since I tried Fenty foundation, I never want any other foundation. It is so light and it stays matte on my oily skin. I don’t need much because the coverage is amazing. You have 40 shades to choose from and I am in the shade 310.  I am looking forward to more Fenty products because girl.. I need to get the whole collection! To be honest I love all of Fenty Beauty base products. It’s my go to for a flawless snatched base! Get it here.

4.) Concealer

I love a good concealer because I have acne scars and hyperpigmentation to cover. My all time favourite concealer is by Roxxmetics. Roxxmetics is a Singapore brand and I come across this brand when I participated in an instagram contest. They sent me the full cover concealer as one of the prize. This product is so amazing. Just a little bit of concealer was able to cover the hyperpigmentation around my mouth area. I use the shade medium. Get it here.

5.) Lashes

IG: @nygmarose

My go to dramatic vavavoom lashes would be Carmen by Huda Beauty. I love my lashes long and thick. 😉 Of course some days I like a pair of nice wispies but if you know me, I go big. Carmen just frame my eyes nicely. I put Carmen on whenever I do a dramatic bold eye look. Be it a cut crease or nice smokey eye. Sadly you can’t get huda lashes in Singapore so you have to buy it from their website which can cost a lot with shipping. Get it here.

There you go girlfriends! That’s my top 5 makeup products. Share with me your top 5. Follow me on instagram or twitter for more beauty updates and my secret project 😉 Until next time!

Can Can’s Handmade Liquid Lipstick – Review

Hello lovelies!

Here I am again with another review for you. I recently took part in a makeup challenge on Instagram and the theme was “Unicorn Frappbabe” inspired by the famous Unicorn Frappucino. It was a collaboration between Roxxmetics, Can Can’s Handmade, Raggysha and Teal & Gold Co. They pick 3 winners and I was lucky enough to be one of the winner. Here is my submission for the challenge:

IG: @nygmarose

I didn’t know much about Can Can’s handmade so I decided to look them up. They are Malaysia based cosmetics company and they specialises in makeup for middle to deeper skin tone. I find it amazing as there are not many brands out there that caters to the deeper skin tone. I know I have a difficult time trying to find the right foundation shade or lipstick shade. Sometimes it would look good on the website and when I order it, it just didn’t look good against my skin tone. For now Can Can’s handmade only have 2 shades of liquid lipstick on their website. I hope they will come up with more products in the future.

Can Can’s send me their liquid lipstick in the shade Muse. The packaging look sophisticated with just simple gold logo and lettering on a black box. On their website it stated that it is Cruelty Free, uses natural ingredients, doesn’t contain parabens, SLS, silica and mineral oils.

IG: @nygmarose

The formula isn’t too thick. One swatch and it was very pigmented. I absolutely love the colour. I waited for it to dry down and it wasn’t very drying like some matte liquid lipsticks. I also have to give credit to Raggysha’s chocolate lip scrub that made my lips smooth and making the application of the lipstick easier.

IG: @nygmarose

The liquid lipstick is selling for $59.00RM. You can get yours from their website here. I would rate this liquid lipsticks 8/10. Really hoping they would come up with more shades.

Follow me on instagram for more update and also you can leave a comment if you want me to try any new product. Until next time beauties!

Peace & Love,

Nygmarose

Best Eyelash Glue!

Oh dear it’s been awhile hasn’t it. I have been pretty busy and weren’t able to update this site. I still create different looks so it’s best to follow me on Instagram because I am most active over there.

The last couple of days I kept seeing ladies posting/complaining about their falsies not sticking to their eyes. Some complain about how their falsies will move after a few hours of wearing them. I have been in that situation before and it’s frustrating. It’s not cute having falsies hanging for its dear life to whatever left of the eyelash glue. I’m going to share with you the best eyelash glue ever! I rate this eyelash glue 10/10.

It’s the StarLash eyelash glue! I swear by this product. You can party the night away and you don’t have to worry about losing your falsies on the dance floor. I have use this product for a few years now. You can purchase this lash glue at Sasa store. It only cost around $6. It’s cheap and for the size you can bring it anywhere in case you do need to adjust your lashes which I doubt you have to. Alternatively you can try buying it online. Click on the link here to purchase your lash glue.

I hope this help you with your falsies problem. Till next time. Stay beautiful. 😀

Harley Quinn inspired

IG: @nygmarose

Recently I uploaded this Harley Quinn inspired look on my facebook page and instagram. I got a lot of love and I’m so excited to create more looks like this. I focus more on beauty makeup but once in a while I wanna switch things up a little bit. The challenge with creating that look was all the little detailing. You really need a very good eyeliner. I use a little bit of Kat Von D tattoo liner and also LA girl gel liner.

Now that eyebrow. I do not have any liquid/pomade type of consistency to use it for my brow. Thank goodness I have the inglot duraline. That stuff is magic. I mix the inglot duraline to H&M eyeshadow Kobai Azalea. So that’s what I use to do my brow. You should totally invest on the inglot Duraline. If you have a dried up gel liner/eyebrow pomade or even to get pigmentation on an eyeshadow you can use this stuff.

I use Hudabeauty palette for the shadow on my eyes. Using shades Maneater + Henna &  Black Truffle. Finish off the look with eyeliner and get the lipstick in red & black.

I’m looking forward to creating more looks. Do you have any suggestion to what other look you would like to see? Leave a comment. Till next time.

Countdown to 2017: Top 5 Makeup Trends in 2016

1.) Glitter everywhere!

Seems like in 2016, we are obsessed with everything sparkling. Glitter is everywhere. Me on the other hand, I have a love/hate relationship with glitter. I mean I love the sparkling shiny effect but…. getting it everywhere is a whole other story. Have you ever had glitter get in your eye? Yes. Nightmare. Some of the glitter trends are glitter brows, glitter lips, glitter eyelid & glitter tears.

2.) Metallic Lipstick

I remember in the early 2000, metallic lipstick was huge. I used to have a pink metallic hello kitty lipstick. Ahh the memories.. Now it’s making a come back. Out with matte in with metallic. Makeup brands like Kylie Cosmetics, Jeffree Star Cosmetics, Milani and others are coming up with a lot of metallic shades and it’s amazing. What are some of your favorite Metallic shades?

3.) Contouring to the extreme (Body Parts)

Oh how wonderful life is with contouring.. Or else my face will be so flat…. and round. The only contouring I do is on my face. However there has been trend of extreme contouring where people actually contour their body parts! The most common one is contouring the chest to make it appear like you have bigger… uhm.. bosoms. I have also come across videos where people contour their tummy for illusion of abs, contouring their neck and leg to make it appear slimmer. What do you think of these extreme contouring?

4.) Gold flake eyeshadow

Maybe this is not a super big trend but I saw this when Emma Watson rock it on the red carpet. I also starting to see beauty gurus doing makeup look inspired by it. It’s bold and I think it’s more suitable for the runway, red carpet or perhaps night out in town? I feel like you could always get away with bold look in the night-time.

5.) Baking

Oh no we’re not talking about muffin or cupcakes honey. We are baking that face. What????? No don’t start getting idea of putting your face in the oven. Baking here basically mean putting setting powder and leave it to “bake” for 5 minutes(or more) and then dust it off. In the beginning I was kind of skeptical about it but as I tried it…. OMG. This baking stuff works. I realise it sets my concealer better and hide my eyebag like a magic! However be very careful to choose a setting powder that works or else you’re gonna have white undereye which shows up in photos. I’m of the deeper skin tone and finding the right setting powder is important so I won’t appear ashy. I’m currently using Sacha Buttercup setting powder. For people with deeper skin tone like mine I think this works best.
